Game needs repairing after every bug

From one day to another, my game makes it impossible to click on anything outside of the UI. No lag, no crash - just nothing besides the UI is clickable.

I know this is a known issue, which for me is only fixable by repairing the game and removing the localtumbcache.package file. Repairing my game takes half an hour every time since I own all DLC. A bit lenghty, but at least it's fixable.

Now, for the problem:

The problem occurs when I put any single piece of CC in my game. I've updated all CC/mods and tried using all individually, but they all lead to the game breaking and needing to be fully repaired before working again.

Just in case it matters, I use the following CC/mods:

  • No Intro v.2022.7.31
  • Photograpic Memory v2.1.2
  • UI Cheats Extention v1.41
  • MC Command Center v2024.4.1
  • More Columns in CAS v1.30
  • Little Dica's CASroom Style F
  • Llumisims Magrigold Default Skin
  • Meteor Eyes Default eyes

Is there anyone who can help me fix this issue or has had this happen to them before?

Thanks in advance!!

  • @AmyStork Can you do a test for me, and add some other info, please?

    The test:

    1. Drag the whole The Sims 4 folder to the desktop - you'll have files here for putting back later, like the UserSetting.ini file
    2. Start the game and exit
    3. Download one new piece of CC to add to Mods. I always suggest a piece of furniture by peacemaker because I know it's all working & he's a nice guy
    4. Open the game to test for your previous issue

Let me know if that works, and also these things:

    1. Are you on a Windows PC or a Mac?
    2. Do you use any file backup/syncing software? (Things like OneDrive, iCloud)
    3. Have you done any other testing steps?
    4. Do you get any error messages when you load the game? If so, please add a screenshot or the details.
