Please try this exact order, even if it seems redundant:
- Use these instructions to be sure you're in the right user folder: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/ . Write that address down.
- Navigate to that specific address then drag the folder (the whole The Sims 4 folder) to the desktop and rename it to avoid later confusion.
- Run a Game Repair
- Start the game and exit
- Download one new piece of CC (not using one previously downloaded). I recommend peacemaker furniture for this because I 100% know it's fine.
- Put the .package file(s) in the newly created Mods folder (double check the address)
- Now try opening the game.
Please let me know if that works. If it doesn't, please let me know if this is PC or Mac.

Hi, luthienrising.
Thank you for the helpful steps.
Unfortunately, we tried this, but the same error pops up. She uses a PC.

EhMJAY_94 Could you please attach a screenshot of the Mods folder that includes the mod you tested with AND the full file path at the top of the folder?
Please also confirm that there are no issues opening the game with an empty mods folder.
