Help!! Sims 4 Custom Content not working

I am a relatively new Sims player. I added a plethora of custom content with the help of my friend (someone who has been playing Sims since it came out). Everything was working fine, with some occasional corrupt cc. When I ran into issues it was easy to fix. However, now when I open up the Sims none of my custom content shows up. I checked to make sure "custom content" and "script mods" are enabled. I also opened the game in hopes to find a possible corrupt cc, but none of the cc's show up anyway. I reinstalled the game, removed the cc folder and reset the game then added it back in, I've scoured the internet for answers, etc. Nothing has worked. I even deleted the origin app and the Sims (I am on a Macbook Pro). Still, nothing. This is driving me crazy! I went so far as to delete my beloved Sims and start a new game. Nothing has changed. The game is running fine but there is absolutely no custom content. In case you are wondering, I checked in settings to see if any content shows up in the list. Nothing is there. It was working one day and a week later it just.. stopped. I am at my wit's end, please help!
