Help! Wrong household when asking NPC to move in
I’ve been so excited to start a new family with my youngest sim (Paulina, a young adult) and her NPC boyfriend (Jason, a young adult). I have the university pack installed and she’s going to uni so I decided to buy the residential lot in britechester, edit it and then ask him to move in with her. Right now Jason lives with his sister.
the problem is that it doesn’t let me keep playing on the current lot and in the current family. What I want to do is to move Jason into Paulina’s family (the Adam’s family) into her house in Britechester and continue playing there. However I’m only allowed to keep playing with Jason’s family (the durante family) and leave the Adam’s family and the lot on britechester behind, which is the complete opposite of what I want.
idk if that made sense, but please help. I’ll clarify anything if needed. This is ruining my game right now since I really just want him to move in with her, and not the other way around.
@meja-lover There are 2 ways to move a sim.
One is the way you are doing it in live mode. All you have to do is to click on the boyfriend's portrait so it is highlighted. That should also cause the arrow pointing to the left to highlight. Then click the highlighted arrow and that should move his portrait to the left window where the girlfriend is. You can also transfer simoleons by typing in an amount in the box at the bottom center and hit the left arrow there if you want to. Then hit the check mark at the bottom and the move will complete. After doing all this, you should be in whichever household you initiated the move from. So if you want to play the other household, just exit the one you are in to the map and go to Brichester (if you aren't already there) and select the household you just combined to play.
The other way is select the split household button on either household in Manage Households, find and select the other household on the right side of the panel and transfer the sims there. The process is the same. Once you've got the household combined, go to Brichester and select the household if that is the one you want to play.
I always combine households and move sims from Manage Households. There has been an issue with inventory items becoming stuck in the inventory for some sims when you move them in live mode so I got in the habit of doing it from Manage Households so that doesn't happen. It may have been fixed at this point but idk since I don't move my sims that way anymore.
Hope this helps.
