Household missing from Load Game menu only...Glitch?

Hi all,  I'm having a weird problem that leads me to believe its a game glitch: My most recent household/save (Carey) was missing from the "load game" screen, but weirdly her image was used for anot...

    The issue might be caused because you probably saved in build mode while or after you were finished building and didn't go back to the household and play and save in live mode.  It's a guess though.  But here's something to try.

    Next time you start the game, go to the household in live mode.  As soon as you get there, let the game run for a few seconds then do a "Save As' and save.  Then hit Save As again and look to see if the new save, saved with the correct family name and portrait.  If everything looks right, then cancel and continue playing on the new save.  You can either keep or delete the earlier save with the wrong name if you want to later on after you're sure everything is ok.

Have moved this from the Mac forum to the gameplay forum for better generic help with managing households.

In the meantime, could you please post a screenshot showing the contents of your saves folder with the file path clearly visible too.

    Sure thing! Please see attached. I know it shows the saves in Documents in iCloud but I'm fairly confident this isn't the issue since I have seen things getting stuck in iCloud in the past (the expansion packs) and I wasn't seeing these save files getting stuck in the same way (like, usually them getting stuck looks like having the little cloud symbol with a down arrow next to the file or folder).

    I have also turned off the "Optimize Mac Storage" but haven't yet unchecked the "Desktop & Documents" option in iCloud.

        Oh wow, this is exactly what I did. I worked on the different lot all by itself without playing the lot where my household was. I may try your recommendation. I'm nervous of losing my save but I made a backup of the saves folder on my desktop.

        35GB is available. Before I unchecked the "optimize" option, I had like 90GB. Thanks!
