How do I delete custom worlds? (Can't delete default replacement Worlds)

So my friend downloaded a save file to my Sims 4 game and 4 of my worlds are now named:

- Newlyn Hills (Newcrest)

- Lynport (Magnolia Promenade)

- Blythe Harbor (Willow Creek)

- Maristella (Oasis Springs)

I know, ugh! So frustrating because the whole neighborhood and all of the townies and families are completely changed. I want my old game back. I reached the creator's page and she hasn't shared anything on how to completely remove them.

I tried removing all the mods but it didn't work. If I remove save files I'll lose my progress on the game. Any other way to get rid of these replacements?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi @meryemyavuz. From what I've seen, once a save has been played, its worlds can't be renamed. However, you can use Srsly's mod World Rename Tool to affect new saves.

That said, downloading one save shouldn't be able to change the townies and families in a different save that existed before it.

thank you! i now got the whole saved games idea. i'm kinda new at sims 4, i thought it was like the old neighborhood system. that said, i was lucky this save wasn't on the world i'm currently playing. what to do in a situation like that? the whole save game is basically irreversibly changed? is there any way to disect a save file so you can remove stuff or bring stuff back or once it's gone, it's gone forever?

@meryemyavuz Renaming worlds is not something you can easily/normally do. So it’s not likely to just happen randomly on a save you’ve already been playing. But yes, if a Sim dies or you change a lot in a save, that save keeps those changes. You can always start a new save if you want to start over. You can also place Sims/households from your library or the galley. All the official townie households should be available on the gallery if you want to essentially reset them. And you can turn off aging and neighborhood stories in the game settings if you want the background townies to mostly stay static.
