Hi, I've recently been switched to the EA app as I am on a Mac. I have been playing with my mods fine. I then downloaded more custom content and now my game won't open. It will load for a bit but when I move the mouse it stops loading and when I hover over the icon it says it's not responding, so I have to click 'force quit'. This has happened a lot of times before as Ive played with cc for years, so I did the typical methods of the process of elimination and finding the corrupted cc. I took all the recently downloaded cc away and it still didn't work. I then took all the subfolders I created to organise my cc by clothes, furniture etc. one by one and this still didn't work. I took the whole mods folder to my desktop and of course this worked. So I know that it must be the cc or mods that are corrupting the game, however it's not telling me what's corrupted as I've taken everything out individually. I have deleted the resource.cfg files multiple times, created a new mods folder and repaired game through EA about 4 times. If anyone knows how to fix this i would really appreciate it!

Have a look at this AHQ post and scroll a bit down for an explanation of the 50/50 method. Even it looks a bit scaring, that method is the best way to find broken mods.

  • @Bonxie_MCCC Hi! thanks so much for helping me out, I tried this method but it unfortunately didn't resolve the issue. But I scanned my mods through Curse Forge and it told me which mods were out of date/corrupted, Thanks again!
