If I turn a pre-existing Sim into an occult using MCCC, will I still be able to complete one of the occult aspirations?

I noticed that the first step of the occult aspirations is to "become" whatever that occult is. If I were to turn a pre-existing Sim, for example, some of the members of the Goth family, into spellcasters, using MCCC, would the game still register them as "becoming" that occult in that way, so that they could complete the rest of the aspiration, or will the game/aspiration not recognize them as occults if they are turned into one via MCCC?

I've searched online, and the information about occult aspirations that I have found just covers occults that are made as occults in CAS, or Sims that become occults through gameplay, like visiting the Magic Realm or being turned by a vampire. I know MCCC gives you the option to change a Sim into an occult; I'm just wondering if that will count towards the aspiration.

Thanks!
  • @AalyahReed that sounds amazing! I made Bella Goth into a Spellcaster too, but I never thought of making other members of her family into Spellcasters. Now I wish that I had! Especially the Crumplebottoms - I can totally see them using magic now that you've mentioned it! Wasn't there a Crumplebottom household of magic users in The Sims 3 Supernatural, or am I imagining that?

You've now got me seriously considering retconning three generations of my save so I can go back and do this! :D
  • If it doesn't trigger that first step, once you're satisfied that you've completed it along with all the other steps in that milestone you could use the 'Complete Aspiration Milestone' cheat, which completes all the steps in that milestone and moves your Sim onto the next milestone in that aspiration.

Just type "aspirations.complete_current_milestone" without quotation marks into the cheat bar when you're ready.

AFAIK using the cheat still gives you the lifetime aspiration points you'd have got had you completed the milestone 'naturally'.

I use this cheat a lot because I find a lot of the aspirations seem to glitch and not trigger when they should. I had my teen Sim leave and rejoin their after-school activity three times before I gave up and just cheated it for their Goal-Oriented aspiration.
  • Hi @Bugginbabs66 great to hear that you have done this exact thing and it worked out for you!

Also @DangalfSim that's great advice! I only recently heard about the complete milestone cheat, when I was reading about aspirations, and a lot of Simmers were saying that the "Soulmate Aspiration" glitches for them, so they were using that cheat to fix the problem. It's good to know that it can be applied to other aspirations as well.

With this information, I will go back to CAS and change the aspirations for Bella Goth, Cassandra Goth, Cornelia Goth, Agnes Crumplebottom (my own version, not the one from HoB in CL) and Jocasta Bachelor to be Spellcaster-oriented. It's always been my headcannon that the women in the Bachelor family are magical, and that the Crumplebottom sisters had magical origins, has well. And there is also that little tidbit about a Goth ancestor, Lady Ravendancer Goth, being magical, too.

I'm glad I can change their aspirations, make them into Spellcasters per MCCC, and play them the way that I envision them!

Thank you both for your feedback!
  • @DangalfSim Thanks! :) I'm creating a Master Save File for myself, so I'm getting all the premades set up the way I want them, and building every world. I also insist on recreating extended family members for many of my Sims from previous games. It's a lot of work, but also a lot of fun, too! Aside from the Goths giving off general mysterious & occult-adjacent vibes in every version of the game, they and the Crumplebottom sisters have been used in Maxis/EA ads as far back as Makin' Magic for magic related content, like items in the Sims 3 store, so it's always been implied that they had magical abilities. I've taken that & run with it!

Yes, there were 3 witch/spellcaster sisters in The Sims 3 Supernatural - Beatrice, Belinda & Bianca. I never actually got that expansion, so I've looked up their info and appearances on the Sims Wiki. It never explained how they were connected to the Crumplebottom family, because all of the Sims 3 words were separate, but I've come up for a backstory for them now. Without going into the whole story, I recreated the 3 Sims 3 Crumplebottom sisters and made them Agnes Crumplebottom's daughters.
