Infinite CAS Loading Screen!

I have done the 50/50 thing on my mods TWICE, and everytime I can't pin down the mod! Its a mod for sure because when I disable them it's fine, but when I disable script mods, the problem proceeds. Now, when I press new game from the main menu, it turns white for an endless period. But I can't find the cause! Please help, this is my favorite game and I'm tired of it breaking.

  • @PressyWessy11   Hello!  And ugh!  What a pain!  I know how tedious the 50/50 method can be.  :-(

First, you might want to check the Broken Mods list to see if any of your mods are listed.

Also, I wanted to clarify something.  You said "when I disable script mods, the problem proceeds".  Did you mean that when you enable script mods, the problem proceeds?  If so, then you could probably limit your testing to script mods only.  Click the spoiler below for some steps to try.

    Spoiler

    1. Close the game

    2. Move your entire Mods folder to the desktop

     - You may want to make a copy of this folder to preserve them as is; perhaps name it something like PrimaryModsFolder

    3. Create a folder on the desktop; something like ScriptModsToTest

    4. Move all mods that have TS4SCRIPT files to the new ScriptModsToTest (or whatever you named it)

     - Be sure to move the package and script files together; for example mc_cmd_center.package and mc_cmd_center.ts4script should be kept together

     - Note for MCCC specifically, keep all the module script files you use together as well

     - Other mods may have multiple script files too, so just keep them all together

    5. Delete the localthumbcache.package file located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder

    6. Repair the game

     - In the EA app, navigate to the game, select Manage, Select Repair and allow this to run for all packs

    7. Launch the game (a new, empty Mods folder will be generated automatically)

    8. Create a New Save to test (to be sure the game loads properly without any mods)

    9. Save and exit the game

    10. Do 50/50 testing for those ScriptMods (include the script and package files for each mod when testing)

     - You may want to create a separate folder on your desktop for Safe or Tested Script Mods as well

If you do try those steps, please come back and update if it worked for you or not.
