Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

At the time I found this bug, I had two mods installed; MC Control Center and Extreme Violence, both have since then been removed from my mods folder and updated as a whole. The only way I am able to close my game is by going into Task Manager and shutting it down from there.

Everything was fine up until last Friday, February 24th, 2023. I went to go play my daily sims game and I found I wasn't able to play it past the home screen. I quickly took to the internet and tried everything I could find including the following:

  1. Updating my mods - Did not fix it.
  2. Updating my game - No update needed.
  3. Removing my mods - Did not fix it.
  4. Repairing the game via the EA app - Did not fix it.
  5. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game - Did not fix it.
  6. Restarting my laptop - Did not fix it.
  7. Clearing Cache - Didn't fix, felt like a waste of time.
  8. Waiting a day or two - Did not fix it.
  9. Removing my screenshots and videos. - Did not fix it.
  10. Moving WiFi connections - I've been to two different locations, my home and the dormitory I reside in for college.

After a while, I got fed up with the constant waiting so I took some screenshots today of my waiting.

This is the home screen, where everything seemed normal at first.

I start my save file at ~ 7:30 pm EST.

The game has still not loaded, it is 7:34 pm EST. It has been four minutes and the game has yet loaded.

It is now 7:37 pm EST, almost been nearly 10 minutes since the launch of the game.

It shouldn't take this long to launch the game, which makes me feel very worried about what is happening as I tend to play the Sims 4 a lot and this infinite loading screen is making me quite upset, I'm really looking forward to the infants update and I've been trying to get the Sim Family prepared for the new life state.

I am completely stumped at this point, if anyone knows anything I can do/try I'd appreciate it a ton!

  • @Blue_Jay_2003 If you start a new save game for testing purposes, does this load ?

Are you using continue or go through the load menu ?
  • Okay so I was using a continue, not the load menu. I made a new save file and it allowed me to play, I went to the same family from the main menu after restarting the game and it loaded up.

I went to the load menu and went back to the family I was playing pre-infinite loading screen; I was able to load into it!

As of now I am able to play the game!
