Luthienrising, I wanted to give you an update on what I’ve found with my 94GB library after doing some deep isolation testing today.
I started the day by using a fresh Sims 4 folder and a brand-new February 2026 cc I’d just downloaded. After clearing the localthumbcache and the Resource.cfg, the catalog worked perfectly for that new file. But when I went back to my main 94GB test folder, the catalog broke again, showing only about eight pairs of male pants for the entire library.
I decided to test the "Fresh CC" theory you mentioned. I used Tray Manager to find the exact filename for a pair of pants My sim Drake was already wearing (but were invisible in my catalog). I searched for them on Google, found them on TSR, and downloaded a fresh copy. Even though the creator had not updated the file, I deleted my old package, put the new one in, and ran the game. It showed up immediately.
To see if I could avoid re-downloading everything, I tried using a PowerShell command to batch-update the "Date Modified" for my whole folder to today's date. Nothing changed. The game still wouldn't show the files in the catalog.
This tells me that the March update isn't looking at the Windows date—it’s looking for some kind of internal "handshake" or signature that only happens during a fresh download since the patch. My Sims stay dressed, so the game engine can read the old files, but the Catalog UI is completely ignoring them. I’m really hoping we can get a Batch Fix from the Sims 4 Studio team soon, because I definitely can't manually re-download 94GB of content!
first 3 pictures is the old package file.
Now the newly downloaded file
I hope all of this helps. I'm legally blind... It's been a long two days.
JenjenlnFoley When you tried your old, already-download mods, did you move over only files, or did you move over subfolders?
