Is it possible to change the weight value of autonomy?

I'm not even sure if I'm using the right terminology in my question, so I will try to explain. I'm assuming there is some weighted value to items when sims do an autonomous scan on what to do next. An example would be a sim looking for an item to fulfill the need for fun, they will always go for the tv or computer that gives 8 entertainment over and item that only gives 2 or 3 entertainment (unless traits say otherwise, like bookworm or others of that nature). Normally this is fine as it allows a sim to quickly take care of themselves a bit better. Up until you add a coffee or tea maker into your build.

I'm hoping there is a way to keep the coffee/tea makers in my builds, but lower my sims desire to use them. As it stands if either of those items are on a lot sims will obsessively use them. I know I can turn them "off" using MCCC Tuner option, but I'm hoping there is a way to have my sims use them autonomously, just not all the time.

I know this has been an issue for years, so I'm doubtful there is an easy fix. Maybe I just need to learn how to create new items and make some from scratch.

Thanks,
