@the_sniper_boy94 I don't believe you can edit a household or lot etc once it is saved to the gallery, since it is then publicly shared. You can however save the household or lot you want to change the description for to your library if you haven't already, remove that household or lot from the gallery. You can then change the description of your household/sim/sims (in your case) in your library save of that household and reupload it to the gallery. I could be mistaken, but I believe this is the only way to change descriptions of saved lots or households etc. Hope it helps!

@SqueamishNerd Yes, it is very annoying to have favorites and downloads removed for the lot or household. Sadly it is the only possible way to change the description. It is why it is so important to double check your description before uploading it to the gallery. I also will double check my work after I just upload it to the gallery before anyone can download it or favorite it. That way if I make a mistake or a few mistakes I caught it right away and can reupload it again.
