To follow up on this, I had thought I was having this issue in my vanilla (no mods or CC) save, but whenever I loaded it today to play with the event, I was able to see butterflies!
For me after a lot of testing in my modded test save, it turned out to be a piece of BB CC: the plomma small cauldron. It's an item with custom fx, so I'm wondering if the custom fx was conflicting with things?
After I took it out and reloaded, I noticed that not only was I able to see butterflies and moths, but also the jellyfish and faerie sparkles.
PossumBoyDanny Definitely a thing that custom VFX might do, and a reason why another creator with a custom VFX mod has to update theirs for most new worlds. Have you tried removing just the custom VFX mod? As I recall, it's a requirement for that cauldron mod?
Yup, as soon as I removed that mod I could see everything again. I wasn't using it too often, so I left it out. I much rather see the butterflies, moths, jellyfish, etc.
