Mod issues
Hi all! I recently converted my sims 4 game and all mods/cc to an external hard drive to relieve some of the stress on the mac that I play on. I’ve been having issues with the way my game is re...
@matteafn You mentioned having deleted the mod several times. Is it coming back, or do you keep finding new copies in different subfolders within the Mods folder? For the latter, remove the entire Mods folder and see whether you still have the in-game issues.
If the file keeps coming back, that's likely a syncing issue, although iCloud Drive shouldn't be messing with your files on the external drive. Are you sure your game is reading the user folder on the external and not still using one on the internal drive?
Hi! Tysm for replying. When I say I keep deleting it I mean that I have tried redownloading it and deleting it a few times. Like I said in the post I have unfortunately had trouble playing with AND without the mod. But my main problem is that better exceptions still detects the UI files as a problem even when I have made sure they are all deleted from my game/mods folder. I’m pretty sure my game is not still relying on the internal drive as I have tried my best to be sure to sync everything properly onto the hard drive. Also, I have tested to see and I believe I’m having this issue playing on my hard drive and playing normally on my computer, so this makes me think something is going on with the mod. Thanks again.
@matteafn Please remove the entire Mods folder and see whether you still get the error. (You can add Better Exceptions back in, but nothing else yet.) If not, you can start adding your mods and cc to the new Mods folder the game will have spawned.
If you get the error after removing the entire Mods folder, then you're probably looking at the wrong folder, as in, not the one the game is reading. Here's how to find the right one:

Hi again!
So I’ve been troubleshooting again for a few days. I did delete my entire mods folder and all my mods are gone and the issue/glitch I was having in game is gone! So it was definitely something with one of my mods. Now the problem I’m having is that my game is not reading the mods folder in my external hard drive, instead it is reading one that my computer keeps recreating on my iCloud. I’ve tried making sure my drive is properly formatted, and making sure the symlinks I’ve created are still correct. I’m not quite sure how to fix this. Thank you for your help!
Note: when I download mods from curseofforge they find their way into the correct mods folder and function in my game but these are the mods that are showing up in my iCloud mods folder even when I delete it. Mods I move into my external hard drive’s mods folder do not register or function in my game.
