Moving your game to an external drive is only beneficial for storage purposes. It has no bearing on the functionality of your Mac hardware as it is still using the same CPU/GPU and system RAM.

Thanks for the reply! Yes I wanted to give my mac a break in terms of storage, most it is taken up by mods and cc right now so I decided the external drive would be best for me. Thanks again!
