[mod-related] Game launches to black screen with main-menu words but no picture

I accidentally update my game without knowing that the mod and cc are broken since the marketplace is out. It updated like usual, but it won't open after that. So I tried to repair it on the EA app before trying to open it again. Failed, but I kept trying to open it without thinking to remove the mod and cc in the game. After awhile, it did open and load like usual, until the menu appeared like that. I can't interact with anything, even the escape button. I need to forced the game closed to quit the game.

I might try again later with mod and cc removed.

itstenneo Please see Broken and Updated Mods and CC for broken and updated UI mods. And see How to Use Mods and CC on how to manage your mods when the game updates. UI issues like this are to be expected.

I can't even get that far. mine is buffering at the first screen and when I go to force quit my mac confirms that sims is "not responding"

An update: I removed all mods in my folder (Except MCCC because I wanted to test today's tandem update) and that has my game up and running again, so it appears that at least in some cases mods may be effecting it. I know that doesn't account for other reports in this thread from folks who DON'T use mods, though.

Same here, I tried enabling mods again after the update (my mistake), and now I can't even load back into the game to turn them off. I even tried a full reinstall, still getting stuck here

I get stuck with the first loading screen into the game but don’t even get to the part where the sims 4 logo appears if that makes sense. And the one time I actually got into the game, it was so bugged out that I didn’t wanna risk playing with any families and decided to exit, but after hitting save and exit game i get stuck with a frozen screen and end up having to force quitting the game.

I am having the same issue, both with and without mods. I do not even have the options menu to toggle anymore. I do not receive any error messages, and have already tried repairing my game as well. Here is a screenshot of what I get if the game decides to launch:
Clicking the buttons does not work, esc key does not pull up buttons, etc. The window is fully unresponsive.
