@AnnaGasai1 Hi! I'm sorry you're having trouble. Trust me, I understand your hesitance to try moving stuff around because I felt the same way when I started playing. Please just try these steps and I promise you won't lose anything.
1. Exit the game if you haven't already, then move your Mods folder to the desktop. Just click / hold and drag it. The game will generate a new Mods folder when you open it again. All your mods/CC will be safely stored in that folder on the desktop.
2. Delete the localthumbcache.package file located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game for testing. This file may carry effects from mods / CC even when they've been removed. This file is safe to delete. It will not damage your game.
3. Open the game and start a New save for testing. This will keep your current game save in tact.
4. Check to see if the problem is still there in CAS. If those weird icons are gone, then you know for sure it was caused by one of those mods or CC and you can start adding them back from the Mods folder on the desktop, to the new Mods folder in The Sims 4 folder that was created by the game. You can do this one mod / CC item at a time or, if you have a lot of mods / CC, perhaps click the spoiler below for steps on testing mods / CC. EDIT: Also, there is a resource file that is in the Mods folder that is auto generated by the game. You can safely keep, replace or skip this file without any impact. Even if you delete it, a new one will be created when you open the game again.
2. Create some folders on your desktop; perhaps one labeled "Tested Safe Mods-CC", another labeled "Mods-CC Needs Testing" and one more labeled "Broken Mods-CC" so you know which ones to check for updates. This will keep tested mods/CC separated.
3. Exit the game if you haven't already, and divide your mods/CC in half; put one half in the Needs Testing folder and put/keep the other half into the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 / Mods folder.
4. Delete the localthumbcache.package file, located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game with the half you're testing,
5. If the game works with that half, exit the game, move that half to the Safe Mods-CC folder and move the remaining "Needs Testing" mods back to the Mods folder to test (Again, delete that cache file before opening the game.)
6. Once you know which half is causing the issue, divide those in half, keeping one half in the "Needs Testing" folder and one half in your Mods folder, and test again (delete the cache file each time after moving mods/CC and before opening the game) and moving mods/CC not causing problems into the Safe folder.
7. Repeat this process until you find all that are broken.
