I'm having the same issue, only on one save. Removed Mods and CC, cleared cache.

Still the same issue.
Only happens when going into build mode from the map view. Seems to be every lot, but just for testing sake try the Goths. I can enter build mode fine while i'm playing a household.
I had the old version of that save file and was just having a look at it, and got the error. I then realized there had been an update to it so grabbed the new version and same issue. So whatever is causing it persisted between the two versions of the save file. I'd never played that save file previously so can't tell you if it used to work.
All my other saves are fine.
@citticringle77 Thank you. Finally can duplicate. Did you ever have Sims with custom traits in this save or was it always without CC. According to the LE it's an issue with certain mods that can corrupt Sims
@BahaxSimmer @SGrimshaw Can't duplicate on your files. Not sure why. Tested several lots. Since I can load it, it doesn't look like the save permanently corrupts.
EDIT: citticringle77 Do you have any Sim in your save that completed the Beach Life Aspiration ?
Okay so where should I go from here? I wish there was a way to fix this.

@carlitoes @crinrict Hi there, I was just curious if you've been able to find a fix for this issue. I'm having the same error sequence that you previously mentioned pop up in my last exception. I've tested without any mods and on a fresh game folder and the error persists (I previously had custom traits but I have removed all of them). Any help here would be greatly appreciated 🙂

I'm almost at the point of uploading all my sims and lots to the gallery and then starting a fresh game and then reimporting them all back..... this would mean they would loose all friendships and career advancements etc... I think. But I can't think of another solution.
The error did not occur on a new save - only when I put my old saves back into the game to test. So it looks like they might be broken *sigh*
I'll try adding my lots/households into a new game from the gallery so hopefully I can mostly salvage my saves. Thanks to everyone who tried to help fix this 🙂
So after some preliminary testing of removing and re-adding mods I narrowed it down to one mod (which I don't think i can mention on this forum because it has to do with illicit pharmaceuticals). Without this particular mod, I was able to access and edit the lots that were previously giving me the error.
I will try again later this evening and see if that was the issue for me. Will keep you all posted.

@crinrict I had never actually played with this save before. This was the first time loading it up and i was just having a look at the builds then noticed the problem. I have never used any custom traits, however, the creator of the save might have done in the past. It say's it's no cc, so they would have been removed for the download, but maybe they were there in a previous version.
I doubt the creator of the save would have completed any aspirations either but i couldn't be sure on that either.
As it's not actually my save, and i'm not having the issue in any of mine, i doubt i can help more sorry.
@crinrict No, it was a custom save file that i downloaded from that blog i linked. There were 3 versions of it though, CC, no CC and no sims. I had a quick look at the requirements for the CC version and the sims all have a lot of cc. I couldn't see any with custom traits (i didn't check all sims), however, that blogger does use custom traits in sims. So maybe there is one or two in there that started with custom traits and were later removed for the 'no cc' download. Maybe that's still causing issues even though they were removed?
Anyhoo, i've not actually been playing that save, first time loading it up to look at the renovations on lots so if i do decide to play it, i'll grab the no sim version instead. Hopefully that will fix the issue, but no biggy if not 🙂
Edit: The 'no sim' version of that save file is fine.
Edit 2: So i was looking through the households from the map view, and noticed there were some adults with only 2 traits showing. I evicted and then deleted all those (there were about 4), cleared out the 'not in world' sims, saved as a fresh save, then reloaded and the save no longer throws the error.
Maybe it was nothing to do with the missing traits on sims though, i could have accidentally deleted the problem sim from the 'not in world' section....who knows
Edit 3: Lol, i'm sorry. It was indeed one of the households from 'not in world' causing the issue. I deleted all those apart from Frost and Silversweater and the save no longer throws the error.
Edit 4: I swear i'm done now! It is the Nadeau household from 'not in world' that is causing the issues on that save. Delete her and it fixes it @crinrict
@crinrict to be clear though, i didn't have to delete all sims in the end, just that one.
But i think i get what you're saying. She probably did have a custom trait at one point with her being an alien but it was removed for the save file. That particular blogger seems to use them on occult sims so seems likely.
Hopefully it will help people pinpoint the problem sims in their own saves...if they can just delete one or two rather than abandoning the save entirely. 🙂

I am also having this issue but I have no custom traits! Can anyone help me out here? I've removed all mods, repaired my game etc and nothing has worked
@crinrict I have no Mods like that at all! And yes I removed mods and tested without!
How do I send you my save and I do have mods and custom traits but none that I am aware would change the way they appear. I've taken out my mods and the issue didn't persist. But I'm trying to figure out what this issue is in regards to relationships.
