Hello, I have tried many times to fix this problem on my own, but it has not worked without removing all of my mods.
I recently moved a household (Household A) into their new home in the Cottage Living world. The house was very similar to their old one, however this one used many of the items I purchased with Cottage Living. I mainly only altered the area around the outside of the shell, not touching any of the interior aside from some counters. I added the chicken coop, and also activated the "Wild Foxes" and "Simple Living" lot challenges in their new home. There is also the addition of the scarecrow that comes with Seasons. One more thing I will mention is that there are a few debug items and custom content items in the household, but I had not encountered this glitch previously while having all these same items in the home. When I attempted to make one of the household members eat by Grabbing A Serving or by selecting "Eat ____", it wouldn't work. It would briefly freeze the Sim in it's default pose (arms straight out, standing still) and then clear any queued or active actions. The only workaround to this was was letting the Sim grab food on their own by letting their hunger deteriorate until it was around orange. This was frustrating, but I figured it wasn't too big of a problem. Then, I tried to have another Sim from the household read a book by selecting "Read ____" and it would result in the same aforementioned glitch. I then switched households to one in Willow Creek (Household B), and that Sim could read perfectly fine. I move a Sim from Household A onto a new lot, and she is able to read perfectly fine without this glitch. I move her back into Household A, she is no longer able to read, and the glitch continues. I attempted to have her travel and come home to see if that would fix it, however, she was unable to travel through her phone as the glitch would happen here too. The only way for her to travel was to click on the car icon that appears once you camera is focused off of the lot.
The only way I was able to find a fix to this glitch was to empty my mods folder and play the game, only then were my Sims able to read. The conclusion I have come to is that there is some sort of conflict with my mods on the lot, as this glitch is exclusive to Sims active on the lot and only when there are mods currently activated. I am on the Cordelia's Secret Cottage lot, and simply loaded my saved house onto the lot via Gallery menu. I have done everything else I could think of: Restarting my computer, clearing my cache, and everything I have stated above. Although removing my mods did temporarily fix the glitch, I don't like the idea of going removing all of my custom content just for one household. I am wondering if there is any other way for me to fix this? This only occurred after I purchased Cottage Living and the Greenhouse kit. The major mods I use are MC Commands Center, UI Cheats, and a mod that adds new traits to the game. None of these mods had previously created conflict like this in my game.
Again, I would like to find a solution that allows me to continue using mods, if that is even possible.
