mods deleting themselves from folder

hi, when i loaded into the game after a break, i saw that my sims were all naked and my build cc was gone, i disabled and enabled mods and restarted the game a few times, and moved my mods folder so that a new one would generate, however i then discovered that my folder only had about 700 items when i usually have thousands (my pc can handle this, my games been running very smoothly, no mcc last exceptions) 

i went onto this forum and found the *.package hack, and i found my mods and moved them back into the folder, however when i tried stating my game back up the missing game data error popped up, after which i tried to do the 50/50 test but before i even did anything i discovered that the files were literally deleting themselves from my mods folder, i could see the total number of files going down till only the resource file remained

additionally, my mods folder used to be organized, and my "cc" folder cannot be opened or deleted with a corrupt and unreadable error message popping up

please help! this is years of cc and i have been having  really good time playing recently
