that does make sense, but what I want to know is which one is not compatible with the update, but I dont want to be moving all my mods about because i cant be bothered to do that; it will take me way to long to do so.

It’s because one of the mods your using is not compatible with the new patch

sorry i only realised just now that the mods do appear when i first load up the game, but i cant load into my saves. It takes me back to the world selection page, but i dont know why.

Did you remember to re-enable mods in Options?
Just to clarify, you're putting mods in the Mods folder but they aren't appearing in the list? For that issue, make sure you're in the right folder (see https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/ ) and that script files are no more than one subfolder down.
If it's a different issue, please add more detail.
