my game wont create a new mods folder or a new ea folder
after the newest july 2022 update, my mods folder stopped working
i have tried the normal solutions (disabling and enabling mods, removing mods and localthumbcache, reinstalling the entire game) but nothing has seemed to work.
before updating i took my mods and cc out of the folder and updated the game. i ran the game, then exited. i put the mods back into the folder but they didnt show up in the in-game list
i also lost my resource.cfg folder
i have tried repeatedly to remove the mods folder to my desktop/delete it and to run the game to create a new folder, but it doesn't
if anybody has any solutions, it would be appreciated
thanks
@Starmoonwolf2018 If this were a game issue, we'd see a lot more reports. It's much more likely to be a system issue that happens under certain circumstances, for example with only a specific Windows setting combined with something else.
On that note, please create a new admin Windows account and try to add mods there. Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't sync with any other services you normally use. You'll be able to sign into your existing Origin account and shouldn't need to redownload Sims 4. Launch the game, enable mods and cc, quit, and make sure there's a new Mods folder. Download one updated mod and see whether it shows up in-game.
