MamaFig_ Computer system power is not an issue here, but other things about your system can be. Do you have any syncing programs like OneDrive? If so, updating the game might have triggered OneDrive to move your Mods folder online, after which the game would make a fresh one and the CF app would show you the mods to redownload because you don't currently have them. Check your Drive storage online.
OneDrive and similar programs can also move your stuff on your computer to where the game can't see it anymore, and the game will make a new Mods folder in the right location. A search of your computer for a filename that you expect to be in your Mods folder will find if that's the case.

Also, do you use any mod managers other than Curseforge? (Curseforge does not move files, thankfully.)
