I tested the original save where the problem is occurring. The problem only persists when I have my mods folder, but I've checked my mods folder manually and using mod checkers. I also deleted all script files that could potentially be outdated. The error code is 0x000000014100A365 at 0xFFFFFFFFFF

Custom content/Mods can get outdated with patches. If it works when you remove your mods folder, then one or more mods/cc is no longer compatible with the game and you have to find those.
Use the 50/50 method: http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Finding_Problem_Custom_Content to find the culprit
Mod checkers can't really help you. They usually only detect conflicts between mods.
