My Sims 4 game keeps not responding

My pc did a scan yesterday and before that my Sims game was fine, now when I load up the game it starts fine but then will not respond at all making me have to close the game. Sometimes I can play it a little but after a short time it says not responding again, I have cleared caches but it still acts the same, anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Also it seems like i cannot multitask anymore while playing the sims since my pc scan as this is what causes my game to not respond which is very annoying.

    I just started using Mods (Wonderful Whims and Slice of Life) and the game is moving slower and slower. Today, I have had to force exit the game twice cause it won't move from the loading screen once I resume the game I was playing. Should I try turning off the mods? Or moving the folder like it says above? Thank you for the help!!
