my sims game keeps reverting back to the last save after cas

hi ! im new here and have no clue if i'm doing this right ( just made the account to ask this) :D but ive been running into a really unfortunate issue for a bit now. whenever I make a new sims game ( or use a pre-existing one) and lets say, have my sim learn the violin skill. i will check the skills tab , violin is in there all nice and dandy. but, if I have my sim go into cas, and come out of it (cancel or save and continue ) they will start at the sidewalk in front of the house, and will not have the violin skill. ( or any progress that was made) . ive aged sims up, to go into cas to give them new outfits and then once in cas they go back to the age the started ! its so weird and yes ive tried saving before and after everything , and also have tried saving as.. it just doesn't work . please help me , ive deleted and uninstalled twice and it hasn't worked. i have no packs or sets, only cc . this is a cry for help please i don't know what to do 😢
