My unplayed household is having puppies, I didn't do anything

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What is your current game version number? 1.92.145
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All but the kids fashion kit
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a household you have made but haven't played yet with a female dog (maybe cat) with neighborhood stories turned off, and play another household for awhile.
What happens when the bug occurs? The dog has puppies, twice.
What do you expect to see? no changes to the household, including the pets.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I am not sure if this is a problem with the neighborhood stories or an over site with the pets.

A household I made with one Sim and her dog suddenly had two more dogs in the household, I noticed because she was the sim I was playing withs neighbor and I saw it on the travel screen. When I was done playing and went to check again the was a third dog. I checked and they are all her puppies and the first two had even aged up.I checked and the sim had aged up 73 days (I was playing on long lifespan) as well.

I am unsure if being in Brindleton Bay, or if her being friends with the sim I was playing had any effect or if it is simply another, my sim got pregnant when I wasn't playing them bug

I haven't seen it reported for pets before so I didn't know if it was the same problem.

As for mods, I just have MC command center and Better build buy at the moment.

  • The aging was happening in every unplayed household I had that had a dog. None had been adoptions they were made with the dog included or I moved them in from another household that had more than one pet from the household management screen..

I still want to double check about the puppies because even with mods on it could take along time to happen.I was originally playing a game but time didn't pass quick enough. So I made a vampire and just have them hibernate for a week at a time before I check anything. That's how I saw they were aging, But like I said sometimes puppies and kittens happen and sometimes they don't. I was going to check a bit more to make sure.

  • Oh and my settings are always the same whether I have mods on or not, I only ever have neighborhood stories off for my households and long life, I always leave aging on for npcs and neighborhood stories on for all the npcs.  I don't change any of the life or pregnancy settings in any of the mods.

@Bloodluvingirl I guess it's best if you make a separate thread for the aging.

There is one for random aging but that's more for Sims. Don't remember there being one for dogs only.

Yeah after more testing I was pretty sure it was too. I figured out the aging thing as well, it was just a misunderstanding I had and fixed. I'll look up that MCCC problem thanks.

Yeah, good tip. My problem had been setting multiple households up before playing them, so if I plan to have pets I have to wait to add them until I go to play them.
