Newly downloads CC not showing in game

I recently updated my sims 4 game (after not playing for a while), and downloaded new mods/CC. I can see all the mods/CC in game prior to updating, but any mods/CC added to game after update do not show.

In my Mods folder, I can see the mods/CC, but when the Custom Content list shows in game, the mods/CC do not show, nor do they show in game.

My Mac also acknowledges the mods/CC are sat in the mod folder.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled the mods. Repaired my game, disallowed scrips/mods in game and even imported the mods through Sims 4 Mod Manager but nothing is working :(((

beverleywright Please check the instructions in https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/ for making sure you didn't accidentally add the new CC into a duplicate folder, not the one the game sees.

Hello! Thanks for responding. Just to confirm, I don't use iCloud on my Mac, and I am using a hard drive to store my game and CC. The path has been set up on EA to download Sims 4 following this path to my hard drive.
I have searched on my finder 'The Sims 4' and an Electronic Arts file has shown up in the documents section on finder!! I'm not 100% sure why the update has caused a file to be made outside of my hard drive as the path has been set up.
Do you know how to fix this? Will I have to continue playing the game using the Electronic Arts folder in documents rather than on my hard drive?
