thank you for your response. If there's no other way to deal with it without using cheats, then so be it... Better that than loosing a sim to a stupid bug, because he's turned insufferable to play)
If you could take a look on him, I'd be very much oblidged. I've just uploaded my household to the gallery (did it first time, didn't know how to upload a single sim, sorry). Please let me know if you find something.

@graillyc I tested them a while and couldn't find any trait that could account for the moodlet nor did I get a moodlet. Might have been removed when you uploaded them to the gallery.

@crinrict @graillyc I believe that moodlet is actually from sentiments rather than traits, but it still sounds like it’s stuck and will probably need a cheat to remove. I suspect he’s got a “feeling hurt by” sentiment/grudge against a parent that’s just not wearing off, so he gets the moodlet whenever he’s around them
@PipMenace Could you try downloading the family and see if you get the moodlet ?
Played for about two Sims days and didn't see it (fast forwarfd)
@crinrictGave it a try and when downloaded from the gallery, they have no sentiments with each other. Then tried another couple of mine that definitely had a sentiment (growing closer) - saved them to my library, then placed in another lot as a new household... and the sentiment is gone, though their relationship still exists. Looks like sentiments don't transfer through saved households.
I might play around more later just to see if I do get the moodlet anyway, but my bet is it's a negative sentiment between the teen and at least one of the parents.Edit: Had a chance to play a bit longer, and no sad moodlet. I even tried making the parents have another baby, but he didn't care - and the toddler got a happy moodlet rather than mad or sad. He did still have that happy new sibling moodlet when I aged him up, but the timer was still running on it so I assume it will go away soon enough.
