No "Clean Up" option when selecting dirty dishes? (only "Throw away")

    You can start with the lists at Broken/Updated Mods . If that doesn't help, though, you'll need to do a 50-50. 50-50 on your Mods folder.

    This means organizing the files there into bite-size batches (with any files they require, like XML Injector or a Core Library mod or mesh) and testing one batch at a time. For each test, delete the file called localthumbcache, then put only that batch in Mods. If your game behaves as you expect, set that batch aside as "cleared" and delete localthumbcache again. If it doesn't behave as you expect, take out half the batch and see if you're closer to finding the culprit. Remember to delete localthumbcache each time. You'll find some 50-50 method tutorials online too. Once you isolate the file, you can go find out if there's an updated version.

    If this is a new issue for you, you might first test a batch of things you added recently.

@luthienrising Removing the mods, it does work, which means it's one of the mods, I guess. The problem is that I have ~1,500 mods - is there an easy way to figure out which one specifically is causing this issue?

It's weird because it started only when I started this new game, and I didn't download anything new before starting - the issue was right from the beginning; as if the issue just didn't affect the previous game I was playing.

    @luthienrising That's some very helpful advice! Thanks for that. I went through my history and tried with a few recent CCs with no success, so I will start broadening!

      I've discovered which mod it is causing the issue. It's LittleMsSams' 

      LittleMsSam_RSM_BG_AutoBrushTeethAfterPuking_Addon_DisabledBrushTeethSinksWillAllowWashDishesOnly

      Having this mod in your game will cause your sims to not be able to wash dishes at the sink. The error, throw away will appear due to the mod's coding.
