No festivals except for Henley-on-Bagley

Since downloading Cottage Living I have not had any other festivals appear. They do not show up on the calendar, I don't get notifications for them anymore and they don't even appear if you live in San Myshuno or Mt. Komorebi. I have removed all my mods, redownloaded and started a new game and have continued to have this issue. Is there some kind of box that got checked in options that turns off festivals or is Cottage Living just a broken game?
