not working on Mac

Question

I keep trying to play on the MacBook Air and it doesn't even load up the screen like the EA app just sits there but nothing comes up. Today 11/16/2025 the sims page pops up then shows when it's about to load up but then bounces back to the main page. I'm always having issues with it when it comes to playing online as well, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't so I usually have to play offline which is awful. I also restarted the app and it removed my content on the game which is super disappointing because I had good stuff saved. Whatever is going on with the Mac please! Fix it ASAP cause I love the sims so much it's so fun! Add more fun stuff for base game please thank you!!

Do you have mods or CC in your Mods folder? If so, please do a "vanilla" test:&nbsp; Drag the Mods folder to the desktop and rename it, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving. This will let you know if a mod or CC item is your cause. If it is, see Mod &amp; CC Issues: START HERE

No I don’t have any mods I don’t think I have CC I’m not sure well maybe in the houses if that’s what you are referring to but the game is hella glitchy right now it’s awful

Rename the Mods folder
Delete the file called localthumbcache.package
Restart Sims 4 and see how far you can get loading a game.

Kabutchkey​ CC are mods, located in the Mods folder.&nbsp;
Better still please try this test:

rename the user folder: that's the folder Documents &gt; Electronic Arts &gt; The Sims 4
restart the game
try to start a new game
