This issue was resolved in Patch 1.91.205.1020.
With this fix, if you are still having any issues with this error after this update, please report it to the thread here.
So, just to update everyone, I did a little test with my game.
Leaving everything as it was (using mods EXCEPT MCCC, which has been taken out. I don't use any turbodriver mods.), I started a brand new save file with a newly created household. As soon as I placed the household into an empty lot in Willow Creek, I tried saving to confirm if the bug was still happening - it was. As always, I was unable to save it, and got the annoying error message.
I exited the game. Then, I used the advanced game options in Origin to disable the High School Years pack as suggested. I didn't change anything else, nor did I remove or add in any new mods, CC, etc. I launched the game, and went back into the save file I had just created to use as a test. This time, I was able to save with no issues. Didn't even need to try 'save as' or go from manage worlds > 'safe first'. No error message.
I'll hop back into my NSB save file - the one where I initially encountered the issue - and see if it now works, too, and update here with what I found. But yeah, I can confirm that like with others, so far, disabling HSY seems to have - temporarily at least - 'fixed' the bug.
