Re: infant cannot get onto playmat

@abcheung1105    Hi!  Do your parent sims have other options for the infant?  Can they change diaper, change outfit, feed, etc.?  There was a bug where some parents had to be introduced to their infant when aged up from newborn in order to have the "care" interactions.  This was supposed to be fixed in the last patch.  I just wondered if perhaps your parent sim and infant need to be introduced.  If so, the best workaround was to select the infant as the active sim and click on the parent sim then select  the "smile at..." option in order to create the relationship.

    @JonaO703 Thank you for your suggestion! Just like you said I had to have my sim to reintroduce herself to the infant by using the "smile at..." interaction, now I can place her on the playmat and have interactions. Many thanks.

    @abcheung1105 Was the baby born before or after the last patch (or did you not update to 1.97) ? It's possible that already affected infants still need to be introduced but if  it's still happening with babies from after patch, a new bug report is necessary

    @crinrict I am not entirely sure if the baby was born before or after the last patch, sorry I cannot be more helpful. I think the problem occurred on Friday, is that after the patch?

    @abcheung1105     I'm so glad that worked for you!  Have fun playing! :-)

    @crinrict     I tested this in a mod-free save.  The mom had the beloved trait.  After having the baby and aging him up to infant, she had access to all the normal interactions without needing an introduction.  To be clear, my game is updated to version, 1.97.42.1030 on PC.  So, it seems the patch did fix that bug.

    @JonaO703 The problem is that not all the reports were beloved trait related (at least I don't think so) so there could still be other things going on.

    @crinrict   That's a fair point.  :-)   I guess I just hoped that if it was fixed for one of the reported causes, then maybe all of them were addressed. 

    After reading through the thread again, the only other common theme appeared to be science babies.  So I tested that at the BFF house by having Liberty give birth to a Science baby.  She ended up having twins.  After age up to infant, she had the full set of interactions, for both infants, without needing to be introduced.  Travis and Summer also did not have to be introduced in order to interact with them.

    Since there were some who said they had neither beloved trait or science babies, I also tested with the Sigworth family.  Jess became pregnant with Dylan and she did not have the beloved trait.  Again, Jess had all the normal interactions with no need for introduction.

    If the bug is still occurring, then I don't know what might be triggering it.  If I see it again, I'll definitely submit a new bug report, as long as someone hasn't already made one.
