Re: [MOD RELATED] Icons are blank squares/ UI Glitching

@emmalouisehill  That sounds like one of the side effects of an outdated version of the UI Cheats mod.  If you have it, please remove it, delete localthumbcache.package as well (also in your Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts), and see whether the game works normally.  If it doesn't, remove your entire Mods folder, delete localthumbcache again, and test.  You don't need to save your progress, so don't worry about any missing objects warning you see.

If this doesn't help either, please move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to this folder yet; just start a new save and see whether Build/Buy works normally.

@EliiFreeman  Please try removing your Mods/CC, plus the localthumbcache.package file, then see if the issue is gone. Directions in spoiler tag below.

There is a list of known broken Mods at this link:
    https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/1006205/broken-updated-mods-cc-jan-31-2023-patch/p1

    Spoiler

Try moving the Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then check in a new game save to see if this issue is still occurring. You can test without saving in order to identify which CC/Mods are causing the issue, then remove or add updated version(s) of the Mod/CC causing the issue.

@theraccoonweeb Please read the information here (directions for testing the Mods, etc.), plus please read the posts that follow this one, because there are a couple of Mods others have already found that caused similar issues.
