I’m having this same problem. I purchased and downloaded city living, kids room, and dream home decoration, as well as updating my game. Now none of the sims in my game can use a shower/tub or preform the “sleep” action no matter where I try. Naps in the beds work but that’s it. I’ve looked everywhere with no answers to this issue (I’ve tried everything I’ve found.)
@little_birb_edGiven the error, I'd suggest testing mods that have anything to do with changing outfits. You can do that by leaving just those mods in your Mods folder, deleting localthumbcache, and seeing if you still have the issue. Either don't save when you do or test on a new save. If you still have the issue, try with half those mods etc. until you find the culprit. Check for updates to those mods, too!
I use Twisted Mexi better exceptions mod and it said the XML injector mod is causing the very same glitches in my game. I've been suffering through it as there's no update to this mod that's been posted, but I need it for other mods to function.
@RichterBelmont10XML Injector alone can't cause issues if you're using the most current version, and if you aren't, it just makes the mods that use it not work. Make sure you're getting it from Curseforge or the modder's site. There are older versions elsewhere on the internet. Also, BE reports aren't gospel! It's a human-built tool. Odds are that a mod that's *using* XML Injector is making it seem to BE that XML Injector is the problem.
In general, this issue ends up turning out to be a mod relating to changing outfits or which outfit a Sims should be wearing. Some of those have been updated and current versions shouldn't cause this issue.

I just had this same issue where my sims wouldn't lay in their beds, take a bath, or shower. I went through all my mods and found it was this mod causing the problem:

This no longer works. I have no mods installed at this time.
And regardless of whatever actions I attempt, my sims refuse to use showers and tubs, beds or much of anything else, because it seems that the last few patch releases screwed up pathing, so that it attempts to path the sim through a wall to access anything.
I have tried moving the stuff I want them to use, and it does not help, because it just extends the pathing to the new area, but continually tries to path them through a wall.
This is a brand new save, brand new sim, no kids, no pets, only person in the house. So there should be nothing to prevent them from using the objects.
I have been having the same issue since the Horse update with and without mods. I've started a completely new vanilla save after repairing the game as well and still no sleeping, showering, bathing, mud baths, massages, etc.
I’m a few months late but ive been having the same issue and i JUST figured it out… any outfit changing mods you have can be effecting it, for me it was the mod by Little Ms Sam
Thanks @nickimat ! There's likely an update available for the mod issue you ran into. LittleMsSam is a superstar at keeping her mods up to date. Check to see what else needs updating, too! The Broken/Updated Mods threads are one way to do that, but you might just want to go look at the original mod pages if you think you might be waaaaay behind.
