Re: Sims 4 - Corrupted Save File

@ZaraDonna Do you have any lastExceptions or LastCrash files in your doc folder ?

Did you test another save to see if that crashes as well ?

@crinrict Hi, I did test other saves and they're all fine. I did try save as on this one and it got better for about 5 min but then it started lagging again and crashed just like the original save.

I do have the crash files but it won't let me upload here, any suggestions?

@ZaraDonna Thanks. I personally can't read these files but hopefully it helps EA.

Would you mind sending me your save in the meantime to see if I can duplicate the crash ? Instructions in my signature.

@ZaraDonna Thanks. I'll test this asap.

EDIT: How much RAM do you have ? I'm guessing it's an out of RAM crash that you are seeing.  The save got up to use 25 GB of Ram on my machine and basically locked itself out. It didn't crash for me but depending on how much RAM you have, it will if it reaches the max.

Your game has a lot of households (8767) and either it's trying to culled them and crashes or it generates more single households which causes more issues.

EDIT EDIT: I tried to delete households to see if new ones are created or of it's the deleting process and deleting or trying to merge households crashed the game as well. Do you remember if it was always the same ingame time where it crashed ?

@crinrict Wow 8786, that's crazy :0 I remember distinctly that it tended to happen at the same in game time. Once I managed to pass the first in game time it chose a different time to keep crashing and so on. I have 8GB of RAM, never had this issue before. Might be a combination of MCCC and the game itself generating new households. I'll try to delete some household and check out the MCCC setting and see if that helps. Thanks a lot for your help <3

@ZaraDonna You would probably need to delete a lot of them. I do think it's the culling mechanism that makes your game crash cause the game just goes over the amount of RAM you have. For me it ran at > 8 GB from start so it's curious that it doesn't crash for you right away.

The save itself is also > 100 MB which is because of the many households and probably why it crashes.

@ZaraDonna It would be interesting to know if they re-create in masses or if it just happened at some point.

Did you notice any jump in save game size at any time ?

@crinrict No, I didn't really need to look at my save files before xD I'll keep an eye out once I actually start playing and let you know. Thanks for all your help 🙂
