This didn't work, is there anything else I can do?

How far into the launch process did you get? Did you move any files from your old Sims 4 folder into the new one?

I moved my mods folder out of the game and it does work but I can't seem to find the corrupt file in the mods folder. When I try to launch with the mods folder the game doesn't open at all and I have to force quit.

  • This is exactly what's happening to mine. However, I did hear a rumor that Curseforge's files were corrupted, so Ive stopped downloading from there, but it still doesn't work.

Ok, so it did work with a clean folder. You need to follow the usual troubleshooting steps - move the Mods folder out of the Sims 4 folder, trash the localthumbcache.package file then move a few Mods in at a time, launching the game after adding each batch. When the game breaks again you know there are problem mods in the batch you just added. Remove them and add in one by one until you've figured out what is causing it.
