Re: Sims Cold Weather shoes removed for no reason

@SeaBassChaan

Does this happen with all shoes or just CC shoes?  I use CC shoes too and have not noticed this happening in my game.

And have you tested in a vanilla game to see if it happens there?

Hope this helps.

  • It's not just CC shoes, but vanilla shoes. It's happening with NPCs as well and their outfits. Not only that, but it's no longer just a cold clothing bug now, it happens with all outfits that have shoes and are removed when going inside. It's like removing the shoes temporarily by indoor rules screws with CAS and makes CAS remove their shoes entirely from the outfit. Sometimes the sims will switch between taking on and off their shoes based on their lot design and what the shoe rule is counting as "inside/outside." For example, a house from the gallery has a patio, parts of the roof extend over some of the patio. The sim will switch to outfit shoes in those exact spots where a roof extends over an outside area, since it thinks that area is "inside the house." Quite the annoying bug to deal with currently. It seems to be narrowed down to a snowy escape issue, since that's where the rule about shoes came from.

    OK, so it's a general issue and not specific to whether the shoes are game or CC shoes.  I think you're right about the indoor/outdoor thing.  That's how the game works imo.  But not showing up in CAS is not a normal game thing.

    You did not say that you've tested in a vanilla save to see if the problem is still there. I think you really need to do that.  Tbh, and I'm guessing here, but this really sounds like a mod or CC issue.  For instance, I have a couple of CC shoes that cause the sim's feet to disappear in CAS at times.  They appear as they should in live mode, but in CAS, the feet disappear altogether in some circumstances when changing outfits.  But I like the shoes and they otherwise work so I keep them.  You might have something similar going on so you should check all of your CC shoes one at the time to see if one of them is causing this.  And you should check all of your mods, particularly any that affect CAS or involve changing outfits to see if one of them is causing this.

    One other thought.  Does this happen when you go to CAS only when the sim is barefoot?  What I mean is are you going to CAS when the sim is on the home lot and the sim has already taken off their shoes via the sign?  Does it happen when the sim has their shoes on?  Here's something to try.  Send the sim outside so they have their shoes on, then exit to the map and go to CAS to see if the shoes show up there. You could also travel to another lot without a sign, like a bar or something, then exit to the map and go to CAS to see if it only happens on lots with the sign.

    Hope this helps.
