Remove Moodlets

I accidentally gave my sim the "Possessed" moodlet using MC Command Center and it was supposed to last 24 hours. It was obnoxious but I didn't think very much of it at first. Once it reached about 3 or 4 hours, it reset the moodlet back to 24! I decided to wait yet again and it did the same thing. I don't want my sim possessed forever, and the cheat that's supposed to remove all buffs doesn't work anymore, so what do I do??

  • @RileyBess755  Bummer... A permanently possessed sim would be no fun.

A few things you could try:

    • For the active sim shift+click on the sim and choose 'reset'/'debug' sim.
    • Try giving them the happy mood buff per instructions at this link. I just tested it and this did work successfully to make them happy. Perhaps the happy mood will override the possessed one: https://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/cheats.php
    • Move the sim out of their house, save, and exit the game. Then go back in and try having them move back into the house and see if this reset their moodlet.
    • You could remove the MC Command Center Mod and the cache file as directed below (click the spoiler tag). Then check if the sim is fine. If she is, try re-adding the Mod and test again. (Maybe re-adding a fresh copy from the Mod creator would be a better idea?)

      • Exit your game then exit Origin. Drag the 'MC Command Center Mod' from the Mods folder from your 'The Sims 4' folder onto your desktop (for future reference) then delete the localthumbnailcache.package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder.
      • Next please run a game repair [ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. Make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the base-game first, then run through each of your expansions/packs).

Do not re-add any or your 'MC Command Center Mod' at this time. Please then restart your game see if the issue is present.

If this fixes the issue you can re-add your Mod (or the fresh version of it) and re-test for the issue.
    • If you are not far into the challenge in Strangerville you could save your sim along with anyone that you want to retain a relationship with in the same household into the library then re-place them into this game save from the library. This should re-set things like moodlets.

Let us know how it goes, please.

  • @SheriGR I don't have this many issues removing buffs. But you can't remove all buffs from a Sim because buffs are also in relation to the plot, surroundings and so on.
I hope i won't be to late to help you out @RileyBess755.
When you removed the clear and probably coloured buff 'possessed', you probably did not remove the accompanying other buffs that go with the trait or trade. So, try to find the dazed and/or other buffs and delete them one by one until your Sim looks normal again. Use MC cc as you did in the first place.
I sure hope this will work for you. If not you should definitely consider @SheriGR 's options.
  • if you enable cheats, testingcheats true , then type Traits.Remove_Trait Infected it will get rid of it!

Thanks for posting @DarknessPride but I am going to have to lock this thread as it is quite old.
