My sim was sleeping and almost froze to death. She was sleeping inside and there are walls and a roof so I don't understand why she is freezing. I do have windows that are open kinda, but I don't think those affect the temperature..?
I assume you have Seasons. So, look in the build/buy catalog under electronics for the thermostat. Put it on a wall and then have a sim turn the heat up. You only need one thermostat for the house regardless of the number of floors. In summer, set it for cooler if you start getting the burning up buff. Another way to handle the cold and the heat is to buy the reward traits. There 4 of them, 2 cost 500 points and the other 2 cost 2000 reward points.
