Sim lost romance options

I am playing a family, with Mum, Dad (Adults) daughter (young adult) and 2 sons (teen and child).

Mum and dad are completely normal, but dad's aspiration is for his kid to be married (followed by something to do with 5 grandkids).

At some point, around the point where I aged daughter up to young adult, and parents up to adults, daughter lost all her romantic options other than asking a person's romantic or woohoo preferences. When I later aged up the first son to teen I noticed that he is the same. If the 3rd child follows suit I will struggle with the Dad's aspirations 😅

When talking to their respective age groups they are not able to flirt beyond asking those interests, however if I play other families and try to flirt with these sims, it allows. Through this I can see that the daughter shows as "noone" under woohoo interests, romance interests, and also "no" under romance exploration. I'm assuming the son will be the same.

On a couple of occasions with sims who I have strong friendship with, I get the option under friendly "discuss expanding the family", but with each of the 3 friends I did this with I get back "As wonderful as that sounds, I'm not in a position where I feel comfortable doing that at the moment".

I have seen multiple threads on here where this issue has happened with other people and various fixes are suggested like removing skeleton, moving sim out and in, etc etc, but as I see this is about their sexual orientation, which is not strictly speaking a bug, none of the fixes work.

Is there a way to cheat the sexual orientation back to literally anything? Since bug fixes won't change this.

Just to clarify a few things, I don't have mods on, though I did briefly turn one on (build/buy sort) and off again because it was glitching the icons at the top of the screen after I turned it on.

Prior to that I had "fixed" the game via origin.

I do not have the teens pack yet.

I'm not entirely certain that this glitch happened because of any of the above. Maybe I just got really unlucky with these 2, possibly 3 sims. I honestly can't pinpoint what happened. But I'm thinking maybe I did the "fix" because this started happening? Meaning all the fixing and mods and removing skeleton etc happened AFTER I realised it was happening... Maybe... Eek, not too sure, this all happened over the past week.

Any ideas welcome.

Edit: doh! I just searched "romance" in here and found a post with a really basic fix.

Previously I'd been going into CAS to try change orientation, but it says can't edit pre-existing sims.

It didn't occur to me that clicking a mirror and selecting "change sim" would be any different, however it just allowed me to change their orientation! Thank goodness. And thanks to that post too.

I think that's my quickest fix ever after making a new post 😂
