I just now replaced Twisted Mexi's "Better Exceptions Mod" today, now everything seems to work, even build mode.
Edit: Still having trouble in build mode; I try to replace the front door, and it doesn't replace or place the door, and everything stops. It's got to be a script mod, that is, I hope it's not one of the 12k package files, and neither Plumbuddy nor GameTimeDev's "Sims 4 Mod Manager" is catching anything glitching or needing replacement.
yeah im having this issue as well and idk how to fix it at all, lmk if you find a solution

I was glitching down when I tried to lower wall size in a house and the game froze. Turns out the upper levels were clashing.
I got everything to work by checking "Scarlett's List". I found some new, current mods, and my game works great now. I deleted all the old careers and got new ones as well as updates.
