Do you use mods and/or CC? If you don't, then try a game repair. If you do, then it's probably a mod or a CC item causing it so you will need to go through your mods folder and hunt down what file, or files is causing the issue. Since it only happens when you travel, I would look at mods first, then build CC second and finally your CAS CC. You'll need to check the mods one at the time and then together as it could be you have 2 mods that work correctly alone but conflict somehow when used together. For CC, you can use the 50/50 method, although I use Sims4Studio to look at my CC individually to find broken items. You'll probably be as surprised as I was with what you find doing it that way. I had a lot of broken items that had never worked and a bunch of duplicates and a lot of things that I just never used. Removing the broken items, duplicates and things I didn't use really made a difference in how fast my game loads and helped my game run a lot smoother, so it is well worth the time doing that imo.
Hope this helps.
