@MarinaRose Please try a new user folder test, in a new save. You'll still have your old stuff available to put back: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/resetting-the-game-to-factory-settings-without-reinstalling/
If that fails, please also let me know
- whether you're on Windows or a Mac
- if you have Reshade or Gshade
- if you have tried a Game Repair through the EA App yet

- if you're set up in DX11 (if you're a Windows player) or DX9
i'm having the same problem and i've tired testing out all of my mods, updated all my mods, and repaired my game/deleted the local thumb cache file many times. for me it happens 95% of the time when i exit cas, i literally have no idea what to do lol
@ringpopteeth Does it work with no mods/CC? Drag the Mods folder to the desktop or rename it, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving.
@luthienrising i just tested it without mods and it still crashed ☹️
@ringpopteeth Try this test, please:
- Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop, or rename it
- Run a Game Repair
- Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
- Start with New to test if your issue recurs in a new game.
- If that works, start putting old content back: Exit and copy files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. Important: Don't just copy the old folder! You want to use the newly created folders.
- Launch Sims 4 and use Load to select an older save to test.
i had the same problem!!!! try changing to X9, thats the only thing that helped me
@goncalves44 Sims 4 Studio now has a batch fix for DX11 compatibility, and some updated items are in Broken/Updated Mods & CC and earlier posts for that.
