@Veryemo7 I would suggest :
- Deleting any cache and/or last exception files
- Removing all custom content
- Repairing the game and logging into it to make sure there is no malfunction without any CC
- Re-clicking the mods and scripts back on before logging out on your game settings (after repair)
- Checking your custom content is up-to-date (from whatever website you've downloaded them)
- And finally do the 50/50 re-adding method to find which specific file(s) are corrupting your game
(there is also other features like BetterExceptions and/or Sims4Studio that can help with repairs).
I hope this helps.
@Veryemo7 For the second part, does it keep disabling itself? If so, you might have an issue with other software interfering.
For the first issue, the most likely explanation is that some of your new CC is broken. Remove it, delete localthumbcache, and add it back in smaller batches. More instructions are under 50-50 here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-and-Mod-CC-Issues/Mod-and-CC-Issues-Discussion-and-Support-1-103-Dec-5-amp-14-2023/m-p/13271178#M51892
I'm starting to think it's not the CC, and there's something really wrong with my game. I deleted all of my CC and mods, but my game still crashes. I think it might be my saved games, since when I try to delete them, they reappear. (I don't know if this is normal or not.)
@Veryemo7 Let's try this clean folder + repair:
- Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
- Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
- Start with New to test if your issue recurs.
- If that works, exit and copy files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. Important: Don't just copy the old folder! You want to use the newly created folders.
- Launch Sims 4 and use Load to select an older save to test.
- If that works, you can copy your old Tray files (this is your Library), Screenshots and Videos, and Mods files into the new folder.I think I did something wrong, But I'm not so sure what exactly I did wrong. Now, after the loading screen, it immediately freezes then crashes.
@Veryemo7 Is this after you dragged the folder called "The Sims 4" from "Electronic Arts" to your desktop? Or were you putting things back?
I think I was putting things back
@Veryemo7 Test first without putting anything back.
Still crashes when the game loads.
Okay. Here's a sequence for you to try:
- Back up your Saves, Mods, Tray, Screenshots, and Videos on your desktop, in case they aren't still there.
- Delete the folder Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4
- In the EA App/Origin, repair the game files
- Start the game
