Sims 4 sims can't pick up food from the floor to throw it away

@Maybon27 Hello, I know this was from 2020, but for anyone still experiencing this problem, just shift + left-click and destroy the object. 👌

    Thank-you, this worked.  I tried everything they said and nothing.  My roast chicken was outside on the grass.  Rotting away.  I built a small room around it, then simply hit delete and it was gone.  Completely.
