sims 4 wont launch with the amount of cc i have (~1000 files)

Question

i just downloaded sims 4 on my new computer (macbook air, big sur) and i downloaded some cc from my old computer. i added the cc to my game (~1000 files at once) and started up my game but it wouldn't open. at first i thought some of the cc was broken so i went through it but it turned out that the issue wasnt with the cc bring brokem or not but rather how much of it there was in my mods folder? once i add ~300 files of cc to my mods folder the game stops opening when i add more. on my old macbook i had over 4.5k files of cc downloaded and my game worked without a problem which is why i am confused. ive searched for issues like mine on here but i couldnt find any. does anyone know how i can fix this??

ive tried:

reinstalling origin & sims 4

repairing game

restarting laptop

launching from sims 4 application instead of origin

some other stuff that i can't remember but IVE LITERALLY TRIED EVERYTHING!

@Bluebellflora i have over 150 gb of storage free so that's not the issue. i'm also 100% sure every single piece of cc works with the game but even if i missed something i don't think broken cc is the problem as (this is a little hard to word but i hope it's comprehensible) when i add smalls groups of cc files to my mods folder it works a little better than adding all the files in at once but once i add to many for the game to open, i have to start over with adding new files as even if i take that group that made the game stop opening away, the game continues not to open until i take away about 50-100 files, depending on how many i was able to add before the game broke

Hello I’m having this same problem currently due to the new update so now I’m going back in and adding the cc I truly want and trashing the old stuff that i downloaded but I have wayyyy too much cc and a high end pc that can handle it but I think the cc just isn’t compatible which I have no problem with letting it go just gonna be a bit time consuming&nbsp;

There is no limit to the amount of CC you can have but your Mac will have an internal storage limit, have you checked how much is free?

Are you 100% sure that every single piece of CC/Mods is compatible with the current patch level of the game?

Yes, I understand the problem but it is a problem locally on your machine so difficult to help with. Maybe some of the CC is conflicting with other CC?

There is no limit to the amount of CC you can add but if you have too many nested folders within the Mods folder the items will not show.

@Bluebellflora i just went through all of my cc file by file added those files to subfolders (i only have one layer(?) of subfolders in my mods folder). now i know for a fact that the problem isn't cc not working or conflicting with other cc because the game worked fine until i added a group of cc that seemed to be broken. once the game didn't open, i took that cc out and the game just wouldn't open, even though 5 minutes earlier it was working fine with the files that were in my mods folder
