sims won't complete actions

Since the HSY update and pack, my sims keep stopping what they are doing unless I have them clicked on. So if the dad sim is supposed to be writing on the computer, and I click on the teen to do something else, the dad will stop and do something else. The mom will just wake up and go to the computer (constantly), and the teen will NOT finish an entire cheer routine.
